  1. Greetings of the day

My name is Savio Gouveia and I would like to seek assistance for my 2 years old daughter Pia.
I had a meeting with Pia’s nursery principal and she pointed out a few concerns regarding her social behaviour. As per them Pia is not socially interactive or expressive. Compared to her age, she speaks little and has to develop more.
Pia just turned two on September 14th last month. She knows to speak many words and also knows the numbers from 1-10 and all the alphabets and colours. She is very expressive at home, however not out in public. Pia also takes a lot of time to settle down in her nursery and cries excessively when I drop her there. She is close to her class teacher and cries whenever the class teacher leaves the class. Pia also does not do well with transitions. She does not like when the class moves from one activity to another. Crying again comes into the picture.

Since Pia has turned two, the school wants to shift her to a 2-3 year old class. They were doing the transition and it went quiet well for a few days however for the past one week Pia started to cry excessively in the nursery. As per Pia’s principal it will help if I send my nanny to accompany Pia in the school to the older class as they feel this might provide emotional security to her and this might help her settle down.

As a parent I want to clarify all the doubts with regard to Pia’s behaviour and hence would like to request your assistance in her case.

We live in Qatar and we donot have support except for children above 5 years.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Savio & Pallavi
